Integration

Garmin

Coming soon

We're building a Garmin Connect integration so Garmin users can verify bonds straight from their watch — using activities and daily metrics they already record.

This integration is in development and pending Garmin's approval. The data practices below describe how it will work once enabled — no Garmin data is collected until then.

What we read

  • Activities. Type, start time, duration, distance, and intensity for each recorded activity, used to confirm a session happened.
  • Heart rate. In-activity heart rate, used to confirm genuine effort where a bond requires it.
  • Daily wellness. Steps and active-minute summaries, used only where a bond measures daily movement.
  • Profile basics. Your Garmin user ID, used to link the connection to your FitBond account.

Permissions we request

  • Activity data
  • Health & wellness summaries
  • User profile

We request the narrowest scopes needed to verify a bond. You grant access on Garmin's own consent screen and can revoke it at any time.

How we use it

  • Verify that a bonded activity or daily target was actually met.
  • Show you the activity that satisfied (or missed) a bond.
  • Sync new activities in the background so verification works automatically.

We do not sell Garmin data or expose raw provider data to charities or marketplace businesses. Charity administrators see the donation records needed for their own organisation, subject to the donor’s visibility and Gift Aid choices.

Retention & deletion

Once enabled, we will keep Garmin data tied to your active bonds only for as long as needed to audit them, and remove data no longer linked to an active or recently settled bond on a rolling basis.

You can disconnect Garmin in the app at any time, which stops further syncing. To delete data we already hold, revoke access in the app or email privacy@fitbond.co.uk to request erasure, subject to any retention required for settled Bonds, security, or law.
