DietBet alternatives for UK users (2026)
DietBet runs group weight-loss games: players pay in, and those who reach the target, such as 4% of body weight in four weeks, share the money. UK players can join, but payments are converted to US dollars. This page sets out what we checked on 20 October 2026 and the alternatives for UK readers.

What DietBet does
- The four-week game asks you to lose 4% of your starting weight; a six-month game asks for 10%.
- Weigh-ins are checked by a DietBet referee from two photos: you on the scale, and the scale reading next to a word that time-stamps the photo.
- DietBet’s fee is 10–25% of the money paid in, depending on the entry amount. Money due to you is paid as points that can be cashed out through PayPal.
- The FAQ says players outside the US can join and payments are converted to US dollars, and that games can be withdrawn in a country where local rules change.

Questions to ask before you join any of them
- Is the target right for you? A percentage chosen by a game may not suit your health, starting point or timescale.
- How is weight checked, and what happens if a photo or scale sync fails?
- What is the full cost, in pounds, including fees, conversion and any subscription?
- Would you rather commit to the habit, such as three gym visits a week, than to the number on the scale? Behaviours are within your control week to week; weight can change for many reasons.
